TERMS AND CONDITIONS

We regularly review our policies before the start of each session to make sure they’re up to date and in line with our ethic and professional principles which have to be respected and accepted by all the students who wish to register a course or workshop. There are no exception made: the same policy is valid for all the students who decide to register to a Language Course.

COURSE REGISTRATION
It’s the responsibility - and for the interest - of the student to read carefully the Terms and Conditions before registering a Language Course. Please, note that by submitting this registration form you agree to our Terms and Conditions. Previous registrants who decide to register to a new course and who choose not to submitting the form, automatically agree to our Policy.

PAYMENT DEADLINE:
Payment deadline is 15 working days before the start of a language course OR ten working days before the start of a workshop. See HOW TO REGISTER

HEALTHY CLASSROOM
During Fall and Winter season ,  please, stay home when sick and have symptoms of flu, cold or cough.

If the teacher is sick, she will cancel the class. You can make up your missed class - free of charge - in another group class whenever is available.

THANK YOU FOR NOT WEARING SYNTHETIC FRAGRANCE
Please, do not wear synthetic fragrance in the classroom being a possible cause of allergies or other respiratory concerns. Products include: perfumes, cologne, talc, deodorants, scented lotions or shampoo with strong scent.

REGISTRATION : FIRST-COME, FIRST SERVED

All classes, courses and seminars must be booked in advance as well as paid in full. Early registration is recommended to ensure a place. Students  are not considered registered until payment is received. Italian Language courses are in high demand therefore if your payment is not received in advance of the class start date, we reserve the right to postpone or cancel your registration.
Late registrations are accepted only in case there are still spots available in the class but we cannot guarantee the complete number of registrants before the course start . Therefore registration is accepted on a first-come, first-served basis, or we reserve the right to cancel a course ahead of time   – about one week before the course start date – if a minimum of 3-4 registrants is not reached , to offer other courses levels.

CLASS ATTENDANCE
You should attend at least a minimum of 70 % of the classes (ex. at least 5 classes of 8). If for any reason you need to miss some classes you may want to take some private lesson to catch up with the other students since we need to follow and finish the program in due time.

ONE HOUR CLASS = 60 MINUTES
Since classes are held in a private home (whenever it’s possible, and if not via zoom) we kindly request students to arrive just two minutes before the start time.
Arriving in time is very appreciated. Italian tuition and correction of vocabulary or grammar mistakes are only offered during the Italian Class. Please, realize that teacher may have other class commitments after your class and needs to quickly arrange and organize her teaching material for the next lesson.
In a group course, if there are three registrants and during a class two students are absents, the lesson will last 30 minutes

TEXTBOOKS

Textbooks purchased from Stefania Borrelli must be picked up at her office located in Nepean. Sorry, we do not ship books. If you are unable to pick up the book contact info@stefaniaborrelli.ca for information on alternate vendors.

FLEXIBLE TIMETABLE
Classes are cancelled in case of severe weather conditions (ex. snow storm, freezing rain) and will be postponed to another day during the week or the following week whenever it’s possible. Students will be contacted via e-mail early in the morning or as soon as possible before the start of the class (please check your e-mails before coming to class).
If a student wants to register a group class but already knows he/she is going to miss one or two lessons, they can still register for the course and can attend - free of charge - in another group class of the same or similar level in the same or following session whenever the course is available (see below). Private classes are always another options to make up missed classes.

MAKE-UP CLASSES
Each group course last 5 or 10 week period. Absence for personal reasons, early departure and late arrivals, are no reasons for making up lessons or reimbursements. If you need a flexible timetable you may want to consider taking private classes. Being that group classes follow a curriculum and have a fixed start and end date, we aren’t able to provide students with make-up classes. However, teacher is more than happy to provide you with whatever material they cover in the classes that you miss. If you miss one or two classes you can attend another group class of your level in the same session. Exceptionally, no more than three classes you are allowed to make up – at no charge – in another group class of the same or following session. Always remember to write an e-mail to the teacher before attending the class and ask her if there are still seats available in that specific day and time.

INDIVIDUAL AND SEMI-INDIVIDUAL CLASS POLICY:
• If you need to cancel a class, you should notify the teacher 24-hours in advance. Exceptionally, one or two classes can be postponed at no charge if re-scheduled during another day during the week.
• If the class takes place on a Mondays, you should contact the teacher on the previous Friday before 5.00 pm.
Otherwise the class will be charged.
• If the class takes place after a holiday, notice must be given on the previous work day. Otherwise the class will be charged.

• The 6 hour program must be completed with about 1 month or no more that 6 weeks.
